If police do not have a warrant to search an individual’s apartment, they may still be able to search parts or all of the apartment.
For instance, if the individual has a roommate and the roommate gives the police permission, then the police may search parts of the apartment. This provision limits the search to common areas, meaning that police will likely not be able to search an individual’s room.
If you or anyone you know has questions about a search and seizure, contact the Champaign criminal defense lawyers of Thomas A. Bruno & Associates at 217-328-6000.

When police suspect that a driver is under the influence, they may ask the driver to take a breathalyzer test. While drivers have the option to refuse the test, they may still face consequences.
In many states, drivers who refuse a breathalyzer test may receive a license suspension. This suspension may stay in effect even if the drivers later prove that they were not intoxicated.
If you or anyone you know has a question about breathalyzer tests, contact the Champaign and Urbana drunk driving defense lawyers of Thomas A. Bruno & Associates at 217-328-6000.
