Four cops injured in two-vehicle accident in Chicago
Four Chicago Police Department law enforcement officers were injured Sunday evening in a car accident involving two-squad cars. Reporters stated that the four police officers were on a chase when the accident occurred, but otherwise no details as to what caused the accident have been released. Authorities were at first unsure if any other vehicles were involved in the accident, however they now believe it was only the two police vehicles.
The accident happened around 10:15 PM in the West Side’s South Austin neighborhood at the intersection of Central Avenue and Washington Boulevard. Two of the officers injured in the accident were listed as being in fair-to-serious condition after the collision and the other two were described as being in serious-to-critical condition, though none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. The injured officers were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and Stroger Hospital of Cook County for their injuries.
