A former running back for the University of Illinois has been convicted of sexual assault by a Champaign jury and faces up to 90 years behind bars.

Steven Feagin played for the fighting Illini between 1989 and 1992, and has been linked to several sexual attacks that occurred in the area. Feagin, who was living in Florida when he was arrested, was found guilty of three separate sexual abuse charges after he attacked a female victim in her Urbana apartment in 1995.

The jury returned their verdict on the charges in less than one hour, and found the ex-football player not guilty of a fourth count. There are still pending charges against Feagin in regards to other sexual abuse cases, in both Florida and Illinois.
