Twenty-six-year-old Brandon Crabb of Champaign, Illinois was sentenced to a six year stint in prison on Tuesday, October 27 for attempting to steal an Airsoft pistol at a Walmart located at 2610 N. Prospect Avenue C, on Feb. 13, 2015.

Crabb plead guilty to burglary charges before Champaign County Judge Heidi Ladd prior to receiving the six-year sentence.

According to Assistant State’s Attorney Tim Sullivan, Crabb, along with 24-year-old Champaign resident Steve Jackson, went inside the Walmart and asked the store employee to retrieve two pellet guns from their place in a locked display case so that the two could examine the products before purchasing them. Crabb and Jackson then ran out the store with the guns and a few carbon dioxide cartridges that they grabbed on their way out.
