James “Nick” Beddow, 45, of the Vermilion County sheriff’s department was arrested on Sunday morning for driving under the influence and running a red light.
According to police, Beddow was driving and pulled over on the 1500 block of East University Avenue in Urbana after running a red light. He was taken to Champaign County jail, and paid 10 percent of his $1,000 bond to be released.
The case will proceed like any other citizen, and once concluded, a separate investigation as to what action will be taken in his sheriff’s department.
