A 22-year-old homeless Champaign man was sentenced to 30 years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

The man was sentenced on Monday by a judge in central Illinois. Police accused the homeless man of molesting two young girls under the age of 13. The young man was on probation for another sexual molestation case when he was arrested on the new charges.

The maximum sentence the man could have gotten for his most recent crime was 60 years in prison. The prosecutor in his case asked the judge to distribute a high sentence. The judge determined that the man will spend the next 30 years in jail because of the crime he committed.
