Hearing on U.S. Naval Academy sexual assault case coming to an end
On Tuesday, September 3, the hearing regarding charges of sexual assault against a female U.S. Naval Academy student concluded with Special Agent Michelle Robinson testifying from Bahrain through video teleconference that the alleged victim of rape confessed to her that she herself wasn’t sure whether she voluntarily agreed to have sexual intercourse with the men involved in the case or not.
The woman allegedly told Robinson that she was heavily intoxicated on the night of the April 2012 off-campus party in Annapolis, Maryland, and that she was confused about what happened.
After wrapping up the statements of the witnesses, an investigative officer will consider the weight of the evidence gathered and will make recommendations to the academy’s superintendent.
