Accused rapist and murderer Elias Acevedo, 49, was arraigned on October 21, and has entered a not guilty plea before Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Russo.

Acevedo was charged with a 293-count indictment Thursday, October 17 for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Christina Adkins and Pamela Pemberton almost 19 years ago on Cleveland’s near west side. He allegedly raped 3 other unidentified victims.

Russo set Acevedo’s bond at $5 million.

Adkins, who was five months pregnant at the time, disappeared in 1995; her remains were identified on October 18. Pemberton, 30, a neighbor of the accused, was murdered in 1994.
