Thirty-six-year-old Champaign resident Paul Zindar has been sued by a female employee of an adult book store, her employer, and the company’s insurance provider due to allegations that Zindar sexually assaulted the woman in question, the Paxton Record reported on August 1.

According to the civil complaint against Zindars, LM Insurance Corp. paid $138,867 in disability and medical costs for an employee of The Lion’s Den after Zindars allegedly locked the employee inside an office, pinned her to the ground, and tried to sexually assault her on July 31, 2012.

Zindars is set to make an appearance in the Iroquois County Circuit Court on August 12. He pleaded not guilty to one count of misdemeanor battery and felony charges of criminal sexual abuse and unlawful restraint. He may use insanity as a defense.
