Last Friday, 41-year old Traci Gillespie of Urbana was sentenced to 8 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of intent to steal.

In January, Gillespie was caught cutting the tags off of $2,300 worth of Kohl’s merchandise.  Gillespie has other prior convictions of theft, burglary, and battery, which made her eligible for an extended prison term.

Gillespie was sentenced by Champaign County Judge Tom Difanis to 97 months in prison with restitution.
