Champaign man charged with drug distribution, bond set at $1 million

The Champaign police department made an arrest today after a motor vehicle’s GPS system led them to an illegal drug distribution operation.

A 31-year-old Champaign man is currently in jail on a $1 million bond in relation to charges stemming from the drug distribution sting. Police located the individual after following the GPS that was installed in his vehicle. The drugs that were seized during the arrest are said to be worth approximately $400,000.

The man has been charged with unlawful possession of illegal narcotics, unlawful possession of a firearm, and the intent to deliver illegal drugs. Champaign police allege that the man was distributing drugs at two different homes in the Champaign area. His next appearance in court has been scheduled for May 30.
